BIOGRAPHY

Mathilde Felter (b. 1991, Carcassonne, France) is a self-taught French-British artist working primarily with handwoven textiles. Raised between Nigeria, Morocco, Indonesia, and Spain, she draws on these early experiences with colour and texture in her work. Now based in the South of France, Mathilde creates pieces using natural materials like silk, wool, and linen, with a focus on slow, hands-on processes such as weaving, sewing, and trimming. Her practice is rooted in patience and care, a way to reflect, and to connect with others through tactile, honest work.
