DESCRIPTION
Designed by Matthieu Doucet for Koge Design.
Boxing Ring Lamp is Koge's first collaboration with an external designer, Matthieu Doucet, a Brussels-based architect and founder of the label Imprécis. The lamp draws on the graphic tension and structure of boxing rings, its name refers to the silicone cord wrapped around its stainless steel frame.
It is made of two layers: a light inner structure inspired by Japanese paper, and an abstract, architectural outer structure. As much a sculptural object as a light, it plays on the balance between tension and lightness, rigour and softness.
