Perséphone Ashtray

by Justine Menard
MEDIUM
Hand-blown borosilicate glass, handcrafted
DESCRIPTION
More than an ashtray — the Perséphone is a table sculpture, a poetic presence shaped by fire and breath. Inspired by the myth of Perséphone, goddess of transitions, dualities and rebirth, this piece captures the moment where light meets shadow, where day turns into night.
Hand-blown in borosilicate glass, each Perséphone ashtray is crafted in an artisanal and unique manner. It is adorned with solid glass details that give it both strength and sensuality, like fragments of frozen movement. With its sculptural form, it sits on the table like a relic, reflecting time and stories — a companion to long conversations and lingering evenings.
Whether resting in stillness or passed gently from hand to hand, the Perséphone Ashtray becomes a punctuation mark in the flow of time — a ritual object, fragile and eternal, functional and symbolic. It is lightweight, yet carries the weight of presence. A vessel of pauses and poetry.
Please note, this piece is shipped from Spain where Justine Menard is based.
