MEDIUM
Mild steel, Momigami mulberry paper, oak bark dyed base and iron and oak bark shade
DESCRIPTION
Original
Lira, named after a Celtic deity of mystery and transformation. A hand-shaped and welded steel structure forms the frame. Its skin is mulberry paper, hand-dyed with oak bark and iron, a natural alchemical process once used to darken and enrich materials. The paper's distinctive texture comes from Momigami, a traditional Japanese technique meaning "kneaded paper." This technique, once used by Japanese farmers who could not afford expensive fabric, strengthens the paper, giving it remarkable resilience.
