MEDIUM
Mild steel, Momigami mulberry paper, birch bark dye
DESCRIPTION
Original
Sulis, named after the Celtic goddess associated with the sun and sacred waters. A hand-shaped and welded steel structure forms the frame. Its skin is mulberry paper, hand-dyed with birch bark, used since ancient times. The paper's distinctive texture comes from Momigami, a traditional Japanese technique meaning "kneaded paper." This technique, once used by Japanese farmers who could not afford expensive fabric, strengthens the paper, giving it remarkable resilience.
