Emma Lawrenson (b.1973, Yorkshire, England) is an award-winning British artist who graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Printmaking.

Working from her Yorkshire studio, Emma’s practice is rooted in a deep sensitivity to landscape and memory. Seasonal shifts, muted tones, weathered surfaces, and the quiet rhythms of rural life inform a visual language of stillness and reflection.

Each piece is created using hand-drawn stencils and individually printed layers of colour onto beautiful handmade papers and vintage book covers. Emma often works back into the surface with coloured pencil or Conté crayon, creating thoughtful, handcrafted works rich in depth, texture, and detail.

Collectors are drawn to the sense of calm her work brings to an interior — art that invites stillness, memory, and reflection.

Her work has been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, Mall Galleries, and Bankside Gallery, London, with further exhibitions in America, Japan, and across Europe. She recently showcased her work in a major exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. In 2024, she was elected an Associate of the Royal Society of Printmakers (ARE).

Emma’s prints are held in significant public and private collections, including the Royal Scottish Academy and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
