Will Bruce
BIOGRAPHY
Will Bruce (b. 1996, North Wales) is a London-based photographer who favours analogue processes. He develops and prints each image by hand, embracing the imperfections and surprises that come with working in film. This tactile approach allows him to build a close, physical relationship with the medium — where the print becomes both an image and an object.
Infused with a literary sensibility, Will’s photographs often feel like fragments from a larger, unseen story. Journeys, wilderness and solitude recur as themes, but so too does the precision and restraint of modernist design — an aesthetic dialogue between the wild and the refined. Deeply inspired by the art and design movements that flourished in Paris at the turn of the twentieth century, Will seeks to channel that spirit of experimentation and clarity into a contemporary visual language.
Working primarily with analogue cameras, darkroom processes, and traditional printing techniques, Will constructs images that sit somewhere between documentation and fiction.
