Isabelle Carr

Isabelle Carr (b. 1997, Dorset, England) is a painter living and working in London. Isabelle builds sculptural paintings that explore the ways an object's energy can be felt within a space. Considering themes of tension, stability, isolation and connection, Isabelle’s vivid paintings converse in colour and texture. The palette finds harmony between vibrant synthetic and rich earth tones. Gestural marks and brushstrokes mould and carve into the surface, allowing the viewer to feel how the painting was made, coaxing an individual narrative in response to the work.
